Tharp Receives NFLPA Membership
In 2004, Allen Tharp, CPA, and manager of the Hamilton Accountancy Corporation Professional Athlete Services division, became a member of the National Football League Players Association as a Registered Players’ Financial Advisor.  The Financial
Advisors Program, the first of its kind in professional sports, will give
NFL players access to a diverse group of qualified, pre-selected financial
advisors. The registration process includes an extensive application with
eligibility and qualification requirements as well as a thorough background
check. Allen’s 10 years experience, with seven years with professional
athletes, has contributed to the firms’ overall 22 years of experience in
the sports industry, currently representing over 100 professional athletes,
former athletes and coaches. Allen is editor of the sports industry
publication, Financial Lineup, which covers financial and tax issues for
